(Dundee, NY) – Adam DelGrosso has a great story to tell after an eventful night at Outlaw Speedway in Dundee on Friday April 28th.
The Horseheads, NY resident and driver of the DelGrosso Brothers Racing No. 11 was in position for victory, when it all went away in the blink of an eye. DelGrosso was battling with Mike Stone and Nick Brown for the $300 victory on Friday night, when the leaders made contact and started an incident that ended with Stone taking the win and DelGrosso's Valley Auto Center No. 11 on his lid on the frontstretch exiting Turn 4.
DelGrosso had raced around the outside lane of the track, trying to race where the surface was smooth and avoid the character in the track on the bottom lane. When the leaders started to tangle, DelGrosso cut the car hard to the bottom.
From there, contact with Brown's car sent the Kevin P. Flynn Law Office machine into a simple flip that wow'ed the Outlaw Speedway crowd in attendance. This would relegate DelGrosso to an 11th place finish.
Overheating issues would force DelGrosso to pull off the track early in the night's opening Outlaw Spring Nationals 30-lap, $1,000-to-win feature event. Although pulling off early, DelGrosso still salvaged a top 10 by finishing in the 10th position.
